Our Barkley Sound Diving Expedition will take you on a journey to the west coast of Vancouver Island allowing you to take in the wild and rustic area during boat charters. Nestled amongst the Broken Islands divers will experience astonishing coastal beauty that is known for its world class diving. Between dives, sightings of humpbacks, Sealions, and Orcas can be quite common so make sure to bring your camera! Witness endemic species, massive schools of fish and even occasionally Six Gill Sharks!

The Broken Islands archipelago contains some of the best diving in British Columbia, thanks to the rich and diverse marine life and numerous reefs that make up the area. Barkley Sound is a key part of Pacific Rim National Park and is sometimes called the Graveyard of the Pacific because of the large number of shipwrecks. Teeming with life from endemic species, to humpback whales and Orcas on the surface, this is a bucket list cold water diving destination, especially for underwater photographers!

Barkley Sound offers a unique richness in both underwater fauna and animals as a result, you will find a wide diversity of fish, invertebrates, marine mammals and anemone gardens. Salmon, rock-fish, herring, squid, giant octopus, sea otters, seals, and sea lions are all permanent residents additionally other animals like orca, Grey and Humpback Whales, and Six Gill Sharks make for unforgettable encounters.

Thursday, August 20th
- 7:00am Ferry to Naniamo
- 9:30am Checkout dive in Nanoose Bay
- 4:00pm Meet boat in Port Alberni
- 2 Hour boat charter to Rendezvous Lodge
Friday, August 21th
- Breakfast and coffee
- Enjoy our first dive
- Hot Lunch on the boat
- Second dive + optional third dive
- Relax at the lodge before dinner
Saturday, August 22nd
- Breakfast and coffee
- Enjoy our first dive
- Hot Lunch on the boat
- Second dive + optional third dive
- Relax in the hot tub or take a kayak out before dinner
Sunday, August 23rd

- Enjoy two morning dives
- Pack-up and depart from Rendezvous Lodge
- 2 Hour boat charter to Port Alberni
- Catch 6:00pm Ferry back to Vancouver
