Get your Deep Diver Specialty with Olivia’s Reef
The PADI Deep Diver Specialty course provides you with training to a maximum depth of 40m (130 feet). Exploring deeper dives opens a whole new world of marine life, wrecks, walls and reefs to explore. Learn how to dive within these limits in a safe and controlled manner with Olivia’s Reef Diving.

Who should take a PADI Deep Diver Specialty Course?
Are you tempted to explore a little bit deeper on your dives? Do you want to increase your knowledge of dive planning and gas management? This course is for any diver who is striving to become a more confident diver and buddy. You’ll learn how to handle new situations underwater and keep yourself and your buddy safe during every dive.
Thinking about taking a Technical Diving Course?
The PADI Deep Diver Specialty can help build a solid core of knowledge and skills for extending your training into technical diving. By learning advanced gas management, safety procedures and gaining experience at 40 meters, you’ll have a strong foundation to build off in technical diving.

What makes our Deep Diver Specialty Course stand out?
As technical sidemount divers, we take safe diving practices very seriously and instill this mentality into every deep specialty course we teach. Deeper dives can carry additional risks and its important to understand what those risks are and how to properly manage them. We’ll cover advanced gas planning techniques by spending the time to calculate each students surface air consumption rates and applying those to dives within the course. You’ll gain first hand experience setting up, handling and using emergency gas during your dives. Gain confidence descending and ascending without a visual reference, advanced propulsion and buoyancy techniques. You will also learn how to deploy and utilize Delayed Surface Marker Buoys in relation to deep diving.
We want our Deep Diver Specialty students to have the highest caliber training possible so they are able to rise to the unique challenges of diving up to 40m (130 feet) deep in the cold waters of British Columbia’s Pacific Ocean.

Our goal is to help new divers thrive.
Become a scuba diving role model and community ambassador!
A lack of skill, competence and confidence are cited as main reasons that new divers drop out, which suggests that off-the-shelf group diving courses don’t provide enough training. Cheaper commodity pricing might draw more people into “checking out” the sport, but it takes proper training and a broader diving education to keep a new diver committed. Here at Olivia’s Reef Diving, you’ll learn how we go above and beyond to ensure our students feel confident and capable of continuing the sport after completing any of our programs.
Utilizing Enriched Air
Extend your bottom time with Nitrox
We highly recommend pairing Enriched Air with your Deep Diver Specialty Course if you are not already certified as this will allow you to extend your time at 40 meters. This extended NDL time will allow you more time to experience this new depth.
Optional Enriched Air course add-on:
Enriched air, also known as nitrox or EANx, contains less nitrogen than regular air. Breathing less nitrogen means you can enjoy longer dives and shorter surface intervals. Although it is not a deep diving gas, a low O2% ENAX mix such as 27% allows greater time at the maximum depth of 40m for this course.
